It doesn’t mean that you are busy; you will no longer have time to enjoy your garden. By having an evening garden, you will have the chance to appreciate the entire place no matter how late at night it is, unless you are still working by that time. Having an evening garden is easy since there are many plants to choose from, and these plants are not difficult to maintain. If you don’t know how to start having your own evening garden, try to read the tips below:
Create a Plan
Planning is really important when you want to make your evening garden perfect. Without proper planning, you may not be able to achieve the garden that you dream of having. Try to spare a little time outside. Envision your garden. How would you like it to look? Where you will put your plants? What type of plants you want to have? How will you arrange them? These are just a few questions which you need to think about when planning. In fact, it can be useful if you will put all your thoughts in a piece of paper so that you won’t forget. If you think you don’t know what to do, you can ask for help from an expert.
Choose The Right Flowers
You can choose two types of flowers which are best for your evening garden. Just like what I mentioned weeks ago, you can read my other two posts which are The Different Night Blooming Plants Which You Can Add For Your Evening Garden and Night Blooming Plants That Smells Good. Here you can properly select for the right plants for your garden. This means that you can select flowers which either bloom only at night or flowers which provide scent only at night. Most of the evening flowers have white or blue colors. They seem twinkling in the dark. You will surely feel fascinated while watching them at night. Most of their scent is very relaxing for your tired body and mind. If you will choose white flowers, you can even view them from far a distance.
Choose Silver Foliage
If you will choose sliver foliage, they will grow in the dark. You can choose from the plants below:
Lamb’s ears (Stachys byzantina)
Plectranthus argentatus ‘Silver Shield’
Licorice mint (Helichrysum petiolare)
Russian sage (Perovskia atriplicifolia)
Enhance your garden by adding lighting
Enough lighting will improve the way your garden works at night. You can choose small lights which you can hang on the trees and shrubs. You can also add lights along the pathways or even on the fences. Just use your imagination and creativity. Some homeowners would choose to use candles. In this way, your evening garden will also serve as a venue for either small or large gathering.
No matter how beautiful your garden is, it won’t be too attractive and useful without the furniture. You can put a dining set where you can relax, a bench, or even a couch. It would be good if you also have a patio deck so that no matter if it is raining, you can still enjoy being in your garden.
Add Other Accessories
You are lucky if you have a large garden because you will have the chance to add many accessories as you want. Like for example, you can put fountain or birdbath so that birds and butterflies will come freely in and out from your garden. In fact, if you are having difficulty regarding the space inside your house, why not have a garden shed in your garden? This would be perfect for your gardening tools and equipment.
